The Sunshine Coast Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred on the Sunshine Motorway yesterday, October 7.
At around 2:35 PM, a Toyota Hilux and a Tesla Model 3 collided head-on while traveling in opposite directions. Tragically, the driver of the Tesla, a 48-year-old woman from Palmview, died at the scene.
The 17-year-old driver of the Toyota Hilux was transported to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage of the incident to come forward. The Forensic Crash Unit’s investigations remain ongoing.
